  • Based in UniSA Education Futures at the Mawson Lakes campus
  • Full-time, continuing position
  • Commencement Salary: Level A $72,218 / Level B $101,784 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

The Lecturer: Disability and Education is responsible for the development, teaching and coordination of courses within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs and contributing to the Academic Unit’s research agenda. The position will contribute independently and as part of a team to support the Academic Unit’s teaching and research outcomes and to carry out activities to maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional activities with a specific focus on Disability and Education.

Within UniSA Education Futures, UniSA College is responsible for the university’s pre-degree and pathway programs for Australian students, and implements the University’s Participation Strategy, aimed at increasing the number of students from a low socio-economic background enrolled in the University.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and teach courses on campus, offshore, online or via other appropriate methods
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team
  • Create, foster and enhance national and international links with relevant field of education, business, university and community bodies that assist the advancement of University and Academic Unit objectives
  • Coordinate, supervise and mentor an academic team to ensure the effective delivery of courses

Essential Skills and Experience

Level A

  • Post-graduate teaching qualification or relevant education experience
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching duties including the design and preparation of innovative teaching activities and resources
  • High level written, oral and digital communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members, external parties including community groups, design organisations and industry colleagues and students
  • Demonstrated competence in using the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery

Level B

  • PhD qualification aligned with Disability and Education
  • Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment with excellent ability and experience to undertake high quality teaching activities that reflect pedagogical, student and professional contemporary needs and standards
  • High quality teaching outcomes with evidence of a strong commitment to continuous improvement of teaching practice and learning outcomes, in on-campus and online settings
  • Commitment to establishing a program of research that demonstrates growing publication record, and experience in the preparation of research grant applications
